This white paper makes three claims. First, batteryless (also known as passive) RFID is the most economical way to measure a large number of parameters in healthcare settings. Second, batteryless RFID, owing to its low cost and complexity, enables innovative patient-centric applications that would otherwise not be implemented. Finally, it often makes sense to implement batteryless RFID applications first.
